DRAUGHT WORKS BREWERY CHAMPIONS HIP STRIP PREMIERE OF MONTANA-MADE INDEPENDENT FEATURE FILM, ‘SAVING FOR THE DAY,’ AT THE ROXY THEATER.

Saving For The Day is an ambitious multi-genre, action/adventure film written, directed, filmed, and produced in Western Montana starring Montana-based talent.

Missoula, MT Draught Works Brewery has partnered with Shoot Montana and With a Cause Productions to champion the Hip Strip premiere of the locally filmed, independently produced, full-length action/adventure film, ‘Saving For The Day.’ The opening night of the film’s limited weeklong run is Friday, May 19, 2023, at 7 PM at The Roxy Theater located at 718 South Higgins Avenue in Missoula. The Roxy Theater will host a Q&A session with cast and crew members immediately following the premiere. Draught Works Brewery will also host a meet & greet with cast/crew members on Tuesday, May 23rd from 5:30-7:30 PM before the show.

‘Saving For The Day’ is an action-filled feature film spanning multiple genres, shot entirely in beautiful Western Montana, with many scenes captured in Missoula. The film stars Montanan and co-producer Andy Shirtliff as Joe Bell, an average, lonely man obsessed with obtaining material wealth, saving his time, energy, and money for the day when his “real” life will begin.

One day,  Joe receives a chest filled with untold treasures from a wise old man. After the old-timer “accidentally” locks the chest, Joe must go on a series of adventures to track down the key to the chest and get his money.

Joe’s quest leads him to a determined & quirky baseball bat-wielding archeologist named Abbey, played by Montana actress Lindsey Zachariasen. Abbey wears the key on a necklace, unaware of its value to Joe. He falls for her and begins pursuing her for both love and money. Ultimately, Joe must decide between the two.

‘Saving For The Day’ is a passion project for Writer, Director, Producer, and 6th generation Montanan John D. Nilles, founder of With a Cause Productions, a Missoula-based production company, and Shoot Montana, a local company specializing in video, podcasts, & other media. This epic film proudly features an entirely Montana-based cast and crew, and took over a decade and 8,000 working hours to complete. “My deep love for Montana and movies was a guiding light as I worked on Saving For The Day,” said Nilles.

“This film is a love letter to Western Montana,” and the culmination of many talented and dedicated Montanans coming together to create true movie magic while also paying tribute to the films that influenced Nilles growing up.

Tickets for the film’s weeklong run of screenings of ‘Saving for the Day’, including an early family-friendly Sunday matinee, will be available for purchase on The Roxy’s website at https://www.theroxytheater.org. All tickets are general admission seating on a first-come, first-served basis. All ages are welcome, however, the film has a suggested rating of PG-13.
