Meet Shelby The Beer Goddess

It’s not every day you have the pleasure of meeting a real life genetic unicorn, and Shelby, one of our taproom managers is just that. Truly a remarkable and talented human, Shelby can always be counted on for some quick wit, scintillating conversation, and of course a deep belly laugh.

Born in the beauty of glorious Lewistown, Montana Shelby made the move to Missoula in 2007 to study English literature, Creative Writing, and Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of Montana while scooping, making, and slanging ice cream at Missoula’s infamous Big Dipper Ice Cream!

Though her experience working at Big Dipper was incredibly fun and unforgettable, her growing love for craft beer, and burgeoning thirst for beer knowledge eventually lead her to pursuing a position as a taproom server at Draught Works, and boy are we SO STOKED that she did!

Shelby brings a lot to the table. She’s undeniably hilarious, her smile is infectious, she’s an outstanding dancer, she can burp incredibly loud, her hair is vibrantly, naturally, RED. . . AND SO MUCH MORE!

In her spare time, she pursues Amazon reviews of crappy products like bad romance novels and banana slicers with Mike, her new husband and the LOVE OF HER LIFE, while pondering what life might be like if she traded lives with her adorable little disabled cat Wobbles for a day. “I just want to run around so I can understand the struggle she goes through on a daily basis. I want to be in her place, SHE IN AN INSPIRATION!”

Shelby loves a good porter, especially anything with coconut in it! Her favorite beer is Old Rasputin, but our Coconut Last Rites and Grinder Coffee Stout are a close tie for second place.
